"The booze got the better of us both"
4x05 is my favorite episode so far (I thought the new season was a little slow to start).
Johnny and Daniel getting drunk together always leads to some iconic moments. The flirting disguised as competitiveness. The reluctance to show real emotion. The way they're in a classy place but Johnny's still drinking Coors banquet. Johnny calling Daniel out for getting put right into the final!
It seems the Karate Dads are finally facing what's been in the background. Daniel still doesn't respect Johnny's skills and style, even though Johnny has really put in some effort. And Johnny's way jealous about Miguel and Daniel, which is something he definitely still needs to talk about.
It was interesting how Daniel and Miguel explored all the things they have in common, I thought it was cute if not a little forced.
Hooray for a couple great flashback + training montages!! Now I get why they built that platform. And then the fight, which was pretty funny. It had to end in a tie, I suppose. But when they both hit the deck, I laughed.
I also loved when Johnny stood by Daniel's side when Terry showed up, even though he had no clue who he was. So great.
It ended on a low, but they still have time to figure it out, right? Sam and Miguel, you are my only hope!! They are the perfect people to convince Johnny and Daniel todate err get back together at least work together.
The Tory and Mrs. LaRusso storyline is still making me cringe though :/
