I feel you. I think the next two seasons were even more intense, but still true to the characters. I really liked how the plot unfolded, especially with Mia, Laura, and Leo. BUT season three - the last season - ended on a sad cliffhanger (I can't exactly remember how s2 ended). I'm not totally opposed to bittersweet endings, but it made me wish the show hadn't gotten canceled.
