impala_chick: (Tw || Sciles on Halloween)
Very excited about the Teen Wolf movie!! It seems like the Teen Wolf Discords I follow are not excited :/ But I had a blast watching season 6 and I'll be glad for a chance to see most of my favs on screen again.

Onto Horror Month. It seems like Netflix has a lot of great horror to choose from. I couldn't find as many films on Hulu that I wanted to watch.

Love and Monsters (2020): Slow to get started but I enjoyed the feel-good second half. It's a survival comedy, maybe more action/adventure, that definitely plays up on Dylan O'Brien style humor and is special effects driven. The monsters were creative and creepy and the ending turned out to be so wholesome! This movie maybe had more hype than it deserved, though.

47 Meters Down (2017): Ugh. Someone on my flist already talked about how trash this movie is, but I guess I had to see for myself? There was a lot of screaming while wearing scuba gear which got old. They tried for survival horror but it was so repetitive and inaccurate. There was one good twist, I'll give them that.

The Babysitter (2017): EXACTLY what I want out of a horror comedy. Hilarious and creepy and with some good surprises. This film did so well with transitions! It was like three movies in one - coming of age, parody, survival horror. The film seemed very self-aware of what it was trying to accomplish, which I liked. And it had some serious gore which actually worked instead of taking me out of the scene. I've heard the sequel isn't as good, but I'll still have to give it a shot.

This isn't a horror movie but I realized I had never seen it yet: Charlie's Angels (2000)! It holds up, and it made me laugh, and it reminded me just how famous Diaz and Barrymore and Liu were. Absolute legends.
