JB + Horror Movie Month
Oct. 17th, 2023 09:24 pmI really liked this article Bustle did about the Jonas Brothers from May 2023. It came out before the Joe/Sophie Turner divorce became public, though. I'm sort of avoiding all of the Joe/Sophie drama but I do feel sad about them.

As for Horror Movie Month:
Finally watched the first Scream! It's so good at playing on horror stereotypes while still being a gripping watch. I was guessing right up until the end. And Sidney Prescott is such a great character! I then turned to Scream II and I was not disappointed. I think I like the second one better. Dewey and Gale were more even more interesting characters to me, and the ending was great too. My takeaway was that no one can really save you except yourself. Sidney and Gale are the ones that understand this and constantly fight for survival, while being above all of the obsession or at least fanaticism of horror film/real life crimes that you see from a lot of other characters, and the baddies.
Pet Sematary (1989): What a tragic story!! But I was more amused than anything while watching. The zombie kid did make me laugh, ngl. I'm debating whether to check out the remake.
10 Cloverfield Lane (2016): Even though I could tell John Goodman was playing a creep, I was still shocked! The ending was so good! A little slow to start but I really enjoyed how they kept up the intensity/tension the entire time. I thought the way she made a plastic hazmat suit by hand was a little wild, but I appreciated how focused she was on survival. She never really let her guard down.
IT (2017): Gross and creepy and there were a few solid jump scares! Lots of 80s nostalgia too, which isn't exactly my thing. The power of friendship and beating the shit out of a clown together really does save the day though :D I had a good time watching. My only complaint was that I wanted all of the children's worst fears to link up somehow - but I grasped that the town was just a creepy shit hole in general.
As for their own future plans, “I just want to be able to continue to do this. I know that sounds kind of bare minimum,” Kevin admits. (“Well, you can!” Joe interjects, with a tender knee pat.) “But at a time, I didn't think I could,” he goes on. “So it's an amazing thing to be able to continue to play shows with the guys that I love and my best friends.”
