Major League Baseball has incorporated the Negro League stats into their own stats. Thanks to misbegotten for a link to this article about some of the 'new' stars.

As Bill James once wrote, referring to Robinson, Campanella, Mays, Banks and Aaron, "If those leagues could produce five players like that in seven years [after integration], what about the previous 40?"

Fanvids bring me a lot of joy, so I'm recommending some of my recent favorites.

•A Bond That Lasts Forever - Shane & Ryan by psychicbergara. THIS! It's so sentimental and has so many iconic quotes and it really captures so much of what is wonderful about their relationship.

•With Arms Wide Open, a Chimney vid by tarlosbuddie. This showcases how Chim (and Maddie) transitioned into parents. I love the way the vid shows Chim's soft side, and how great he is as a dad.

•Traitor, a post Stiles/Malia angsty vid by Sharon. Oof, the show never really got to dive in to the ways that Malia might have been hurt by Stiles, and I like that this vid just lets her be angry and sad for a moment.

•I'm Still Here, a Hen Wilson character study by oneawkwardcookie. Hen!! This vid is so inspiring and shows why Hen is one of the best characters on the show.

•Clumsy, a Buck/Eddie feel-good vid also by oneawkwardcookie. This one has all the shippy goodness and it never fails to make me smile.
