Sense8 s2 ep 8 and ep 9
Feb. 26th, 2026 09:12 pmEpisode 8: possibly my favorite fight scene yet!
OH, Jonas is alive only to keep an eye on Whispers! But now I can't remember who the Chairman is?
Wolfgang stopping Will from charging in when the helicopter lands at Whispers' house, then Will and Wolfgang proceed to search the house and stare at each other a lot - and I'm supposed to be normal about that!!!
Oh noo Lito :( The scene with Lito & Sun at the hotel was so funny. Sun was having none of Lito's break down. Those long-john pajamas are incredible.
I'm glad the show is portraying Will having some heroin withdrawal issues. Kala has an emergency kit there already, which means she's done that before. That really fills a really big plot hole for me. OK WHAT is up with Rajan? Does he owe money to some bad people?? I know Kala's whole personality is to be non-confrontational, but they have to talk at some point. LOL at Will calling Kala out though.
Hernando and Dani talking about Lito's connection to his mom's favorite film is interesting, because Hernando seems to be saying what we as the audience would be thinking re: the heteronormative ideal that Hernando might feel like he can't live up to. Lito is really relying on his cluster for this situation instead of Hernando and Dani. I think that plays into the ideal of masculinity/toxic masculinity that's basically the theme of this ep - Hernando trying to weather this 'alone' but visiting his cluster to hide out from how he's feeling, Wolfgang trying to do everything alone and not being able to because the stakes are too high.
Lila's earrings are always fire. Not sure what her long game is here - to kill Fuchs and install Wolfgang as the leader?
Oh shit, Capheus!!!! His nemesis holding him at gunpoint, trying to look macho as fuck even though he admits he'll vote for Capheus - another example of toxic masculinity in this ep that Capheus is basically the antithesis to. Capheus is afraid, but he still stands up to him and doesn't betray his ideals and I love that about him.
Wolfgang visiting Will Last! And then Will say's "What's going on?" and he says, "I'll handle it." And then they all show up to walk behind him on the way into the restaurant? CHILLS. Then Will knows where Wolfgang is going?? Love that for them.
Wolfgang's line delivery about Berlin! Oh damn, that restaurant cleared out quick. Loved the fight scene, with Lila's cluster going in and out around her and Wolfgang's cluster backing him too. I think this is the first sensate v. sensate fight we've seen? Apparently Lila wanted to kill WOLFGANG and make sure Fuchs stays the leader? I do wonder if Lila actually wanted an all-sensate city, but maybe she knew Wolfgang would say no. Sensate supremacy seems like the opposite of BPO's philosophy which is interesting.
Episode 9: A wedding!
Love the Nomi and Teegan backstory during Nomi's speech, I didn't love that Wolfgang had to be the one issuing the threat to Teegan's fiance. Perhaps I'll think of that scene as Nomi summoning Wolfgang just so Wolfgang knows exactly who Teegan's fiance is. The cluster has his number in case he fucks up.
"India plan??" Wolfgang and Felix have an India plan?? Very excited for that.
Capheus has learned a thing or two from the cluster, I think! It was a great reveal to have the guy following him to be working for Silas the whole time.
Angelica and whispers working with this lady to experiment on Raul - these flashbacks are so terrible :/ But then it's revealed that the woman killed herself. So she also felt sick from what she'd done? Or is it implied that someone from BPO made her do that so that no one could find out about what happened to Raul? Angelica seemed to be trying to comfort Raul in the hidden room, which really makes me think that no one is controlling Angelica and she's doing all this because she wants to.
Bendix busting into the wedding with NO warrant!!! Gosh that was dramatic but I loved it, especially because Nomi's Dad finally stood up for her, and called her daughter, and it just felt so satisfying that tears sprang to my eyes.
And then Dani working the phones and getting Lito a meeting with the Hollywood producer!!! That was so charming and fun. Now the trio is heading to L.A.! I hope we get to see some wacky meet-ups or maybe they'll get to see Nomi and Amanita in person.
Rajan's buddie is so creepy. What the hell is in the box?? I feel like it's something threatening, if he wants Rajan to be there when she opens it.
The ending came out of left field for me, although I should have seen the signs of Will's father's deterioration. Will sobbing was so sad.

Lito's drama onesie is such a mood lol
That whole scene with Will and Kala gives me life. The way she shows up to act like she's there to help him when really she wants to talk about her thing, and doesn't even give him time to comment on it, and then he straight out calls her on her shit. Absolute gold.
Everyone in this show wears such amazing long dangly earrings and it looks great but I have some sensory issues and every time they're on screen I worry about them getting snagged or tangled in their hair.
Okay I love that you bring up toxic masculinity in this. There's a lot of that with the villains but also so much of the typical aspects of masculinity in this show are subverted. Like Will being basically the all American savior type but he cries easily is the little spoon with Riley and takes care of his people, whereas Lito portrays these characters in movies but is actually a ridiculous drama queen, and Wolfgang is raised to be super cold and tough but he's so affectionate with his friend and loves singing!!! And then Capheus of course, who goes to get the medicine back alone and takes on the gang without knowing that Sun will have his back. And he doesn't even flinch when Superpower swings that machete at him. I could rant about them forever.
Out of the three ridiculous clown villains (Superpower, Joaquin and Steiner) Superpower is the most redeeming. The fact that he likes Capheus despite Capheus basically ruining his rep, and will vote for him is actually really charming.
That whole scene is so beautiful. I love that Wolfgang visits all the women first, and the one who steps in to help everyone, Will, he goes to last. He loves them so much already and knows he might die but just wants to see them again and say goodbye and still not ask for their help. Let them love you idiot!!!
Bring it, bitch! Gah it's so good! Yes this is the first sensate v. sensate fight. The rest of the sensates they've come across have been nice(ish) apart from Whispers. Leave it up to Wolfgang, although harking back to Will visiting Wolfgang in the shower, maybe a little diplomacy on Wolfie's part could've helped. He's so bitchy to Lila instead of just trying to get info etc. Not that she doesn't deserve his attitude.
How come? I figure it's just their way of showing how threatening she looks to Tom since normally she's not. Or just adding some comedic relief.
That's from back in season one, when Wolfgang said he was thinking about taking a trip and going to India. Felix suggested being Wolfgang's sherpa and keeps referring to it as his India plan. It's one of my fave lines that they keep coming back to.
I think it's a mix of her feeling guilty as well as knowing what would happen to her (with BPO) if they found out she talked. So she decided death on her terms was preferable.
The wedding scene makes me all misty-eyed every single time. I do have to say though, her parents saying she'd make it all about her were basically right LOL. Love you Nomi but sometimes girl...
58! I'm so glad Dani got her moment to shine. Very excited for you to see that storyline continue :)
Smarmy bastard. That actor played Tina Desai's brother in The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel coincidentally lol.
That scene is rough. I usually have to skip it on my rewatches. I don't remember if I heard this somewhere or if it was just my interpretation, but when his dad is walking away from young Will and Will calls out for him to stay, that that call was when his dad gets shot. That maybe Will had a bad feeling or something. Anyway, great summaries as usual! Looking forward to the next ones.
