I haven't watched Masters of the Air, but now I'm giggling to myself over what challenges you must've had writing a Buck/Bucky pairing! XD

LOL That's so funny you say that because it is such a pain! When I'm editing I'm constantly fixing the names. I've mostly decided that one of them must refer to himself by his real name if it's his POV.
