Interesting stuff! Thank you for sharing. I would love to get to an Escapade some day...
I'm really interested in the talk on saving older / at-risk fanworks. It's something I feel strongly about, and I volunteer for OTW's Open Doors project as a result. Since announcing we were importing the Disney Kink Meme, we have had lots of kink meme enquiries. :-) It can indeed be a long manual process when it comes to comment fic, but we're very interested in helping people make it happen.
And I love what you say about saving our own older works for the sake of the fannish history or context, as well as (or rather than?!) the inherent literary value. I uploaded a lot more of my older works to AO3 than I'd expected. Some of the cringier bits got edited, I admit (which is kind of cheating for these purposes!) but I found it really interesting to get that long-view perspective on what's changed and what's constant in my work.
Anyway! I could go on and on and on about this, but just thought I'd say hello and thanks for the post!
