Right? I was totally surprised by the Peter defenses in comparison, but some people think Talia basically made him that person - because he was like the Hale pack hit man? I don't really recall that being canon, because it seems like Peter has always been quick to embrace his dark side. At any rate nobody made him do what he did to Lydia. And Peter is a great villain, but I do feel like there's a difference between how a full grown man is being perceived vs. how a high school girl's anger is perceived.
There were plenty of Stiles stans too though. He's understandably a fan fav and infinitely shippable.
