Easier than you think. After the basic hairstyle is done, all those elaborate curls and braids are false, and pinned on. At least that's how they did it in the 18th century. Also, they used pomade and then powder before they started the styling, which makes hair very easy to manage, then they powdered after too. I can usually do my hair for 18thcentury events in about 30 minutes, but it's much harder to do on yourself. :)
