Ahhh, someone else appreciating OG Roswell! I watched it when it came out, in that sweet spot for pure nostalgia. I do appreciate how all the actors they pair up have chemistry, at least in the first season.
I know the remake is watchable all on its own, but there's references to the OG in the pilot and the flashbacks (same actor as OG Max plays Alex's ancestor!) that it's pretty satisfying if you know the original.
The YA book series this is based on is both more and less silly. No FBI that I recall, but the Sheriff is eeeevil, and the powers are closer to magic.
Completely agree with you about Max and his pretty brown eyes...him being a cop and a jock (with a literature degree) is so odd to me in the remake tho!
