Rules: Share the opening of your last ten published works or as many as you are able to see if there are any patterns! I was tagged by ajna-eye-cogitations on tumblr.

Candy Run (Shane/Ryan): Darkness settles over Los Angeles as Shane walks forward down a narrow dirt path, Ryan right behind him.

More Than One Night (Remix) (Nate/Brad): I’d been laying in his bed for at least half an hour by then, flat on my back, when I looked over at Brad.

Professional Scarers (The Lost Boys): “I don’t understand why we’re getting jobs,” David lamented with a flip of his hair.

Unable to Withstand Them (Max & Dallas & The Pod Squad): Max expects Oasis to be a beautiful place, filled with shimmery and beautiful hues of purple and pink and orange, just like the alien glass.

The Rules of Pool (Maria/Gregory): Gregory has been spending a lot more time at The Wild Pony lately, completely by design.

Drew the Line Right Through You (Max/Kyle): Kyle’s been doing a lot of thinking lately.

Settling Down (The Errors Remix) (Sam/Dean): Dean can be a social butterfly and make friends when he feels like putting in the effort.

Love Asylum, Like an Island (Maria & Isobel & Rosa): Just as Maria sits down at her desk, her phone buzzes in her pocket.

Some kind of Disaster (Kyle/Max): Max is standing in the hallway just after fifth period when he realizes he made a huge mistake.

Five Card Spread (Max & Maria): Maria absolutely hates having to call the cops.

Seems like I like to start with the name of the character's POV I'm using. And I also like to start at some sort of tipping point/in the middle of a scene? Hmm maybe I'll try to switch that up in the future. I generally think beginnings are easier than endings but I don't have any killer opening lines.

ooh, this is a fun meme, thanks for sharing! Always interesting to notice new/unexpected patterns in your own writing when it's laid out like this.
