Happy New Year! I hope this year is kind to you :)

The new year is an opportunity to go through my house and get things in order. It's also an opportunity to go through my google docs and try to get my ideas in order.

I've been sitting on three Sam/Bucky (MCU) fic ideas that I probably will never end up writing but I'm recording them here so I can delete the google doc. If you know of a fic that already exists that kind of fits, please do point me in that direction :)

01. Another madripoor fic, only this time Sam gets kidnapped after Zemo ditches them. The bad guys use mind games with Sam and make him relieve memories that will be useful to them in order to find his weakness(es). It definitely comes up that he’s always had a thing for Bucky, some kind of middle school project maybe? The only way I see this working is if Bucky is also kidnapped too (because he'd go crazy trying to get Sam free and succeed before the bad guys get too deep). So Zemo or Sharon would have to break them out. Sam doesn’t have to tell Bucky everything, but he does have to talk about it eventually. Maybe the bad guys would try to exploit their relationship while in captivity and torture Bucky or torture an impersonator? Then feelings/getting together at the end.

02. Sam survives the snap. He's the one working with the team to do the time travel thing. Sam would want to get Bucky back; very angsty during those long years alone. Sam’s there when the compound gets bombed. Bucky shows up at the final battle in Endgame and he and Sam have a battlefield reunion?

03. This prompt from FFA: An AU fic where Steve gets snapped, Sam and Bucky don't, and they slowly fall in love while holding each other together in the aftermath. It's unbearably romantic, with lots of emphasis on learning to be happy again and how genuinely good for each other they are.

... And then they end up on Vormir.

I would want them to get their happy ending. Maybe they can sacrifice something with intense meaning for both of them, something that they both love but that isn't actually a person. I am thinking of the shield here.

🎃So excited to have earned this rank flash *points to icon* at the looselipssinkships Band of Brothers/Generation Kill prompt meme. But super sad that the meme closed down :( It was one of my favorite things about HBO war fandom. The biweekly newsletter always gave me new fic to check out and new prompts to consider writing. I rushed my last two fics a little, but that Brad/Nate fic about hooking up and then ditching each other was a WIP for a long time. And I loved that Johnny/Bull prompt about tattoos - I always mean to write more of them but then I get worried about getting Bull's accent right.

🎃I signed up for TWO different Sam/Bucky bingos! One is exclusively halloween themed which is a whole lot of fun. I love all of the new! exciting! Sam/Bucky love, but I also feel unreasonably possessive about this ship in general... it's hard to explain but I don't exactly want to be in another mega-ship. Stony and Merthur sort of burned me out on that mega-ship life.

🎃Really looking forward to Holiday exchanges this year, but I don't want to overbook like I did last time. I will definitely do Yuletide, and the Band of Brothers exchange if there is one. I will probably choose between Merlin Holidays and Stony Holiday Exchange. Not sure if there will be a Teen Wolf/Thiam related exchange like last year.

🎃kinkalot 2021 came to an end. What a whirlwind of writing. My team, the Knights, tied for first place! And I tied for third during the individual competition of week 2, which means I accomplished my goal of placing at least one round. And with a non-merthur fic! I wrote 4 bingo fills (Gwen/Morgana and Merlin/Gwaine) and one poem, so I'd call that a success.

I want to thank my Fandom for Australia bidder for being patient and for being very creative with their request. I've been prioritizing this story for what seems like a very long time, but it's finally here! 10k of Sam/Bucky Supernatural fusion fic, featuring mostly Sam Wilson PoV, 2 chapters of Natasha PoV, and a fake news article.
