I keep saying I'm going to use Spotify less and Pandora more, but it's so convenient that Spotify works well with android auto in my car. I like Pandora when I'm at home, but I hardly listen to music when I'm home. Anyway, this year's Spotify wrapped is probably pretty accurate.

I have been binging cheesey Christmas movies because I want to get in the holiday mood, plus I want to watch things that have a happy ending right now. Many of them have been trash (including the one with Mario Lopez called Holiday in Santa Fe even though I love Santa Fe). Some stand outs this year include A Christmas Mystery on HBO Max - I love the intrepid middle schooler who saves the town with her smarts! The whole cast was delightful, actually. And the romcom The Spruces and the Pines, about rival Christmas tree farms and an old grudge, was fun too. The story is VERY tropey but I'm not above a healthy dose of tropes :P

I am obsessed with this gay Christmas Cowboy Romcom Dashing in December. I've watched it twice already.

If my last two fics are anything to go by, I think dancing is like the height of romance - and this movie has that PLUS horse back riding, Christmas decorations, dinner table scenes, a really cute gay main character & straight BFF relationship, plenty of backstory, fun bar dancing... And did I mention the two leads are HOT?? I'm constantly swooning over Wyatt's smile and hair. It's tropey as hell (grumpy career-driven dude goes back to his home town and falls in love with the ranch hand), but I don't even care because Wyatt and Heath are so gorgeous together. I loved the soundtrack! I thought the ending was pretty satisfying, too.

I also watched Happiest Season. It was heavier than I thought it was going to be, but it was also very funny at certain parts. I did not think they could redeem Harper or her disastrous sister in a truly satisfying way after certain choices were made - but I was still rooting for the main couple to work it out at the end. This film made me reflect more about my relationship with my sisters (and how I've fallen short before) - I was crying by the end but it was more of a sad cry. I didn't fall in love with it like I wanted to, but it was worth a watch.
